                                RAHAB (Joshua 2: 1- 22; 6:22 - 25)

Rahab was what the world would call “loosed” woman, prostitute, whore etc.
She was judged and already condemned by her lifestyle. She was a shame and a by – word in her community and to her family. Despite all of these she became the great grand mother of our lord Jesus Christ.

How did this condemned woman rose to such a status of greatness when even the so called righteous or society approved women never did make this great list?

What were the steps or actions that she took that made God Almighty to be aware of her and consciously put her on such a great lineage?

These are the critical questions you must ask yourself as a woman because if Rahab the harlot can make such great impact in her generation then you with lesser or no stigma should do much more.
What kind of life are you living now? Is it praise worthy and inspiring? Can you impact people around you positively? Can you be a sign post to a sinner or an unbeliever in your neighborhood?

You are not placed on this earth to just sleep, eat, work and marry alone. You are here for a reason and purpose. You are here to impact your world positively.
You are not permitted to come and leave this earth without your impact and presence being felt and if you do you would have wasted the greatest investment of God that ever existed.

Your life and existence is made to affect and effect changes in your generation.

So what were the things Rahab did that made such great impact and changed her status for ever?

v  She was discerning: Rahab  knew the God of Israel was the only true God and above all; so when she met the spies she hid them bearing in mind that its was the Almighty God that sent them and even when the king of the land was searching for them. She hid them because she discerned that there is a greater purpose why they came. She wasn’t the only one who heard the stories about the Israelites but she was discerning enough to know that they have a great God and made the Jericho victory possible.

v  She believed: she believed in the power and mightiness of the God of Israel and also in His existence through various testimonies she heard. Rahab was not the only one who heard these testimonies but she chooses to believe and have faith even in a God that she has yet to know or have an encounter with. Her faith saved not only her but also her household.

v  She obeyed: when the spies told her the requirements needed for her not to perish with the rest in the land she obeyed. She did not delay neither was she lazy about it instead she obeyed promptly obeyed and did what is needed to be done. She tied the red piece of cloth on her window and stayed in the house with her family and so they were saved.

v  She forsaketh all: even after the fall of Jericho, she did not look back but forsaketh all that she is used to and pursue a new life with the high God Himself. A pagan prostitute through her “ discernment, faith, obedience and determination” end up in the lineage of our Lord Jesus Christ and was an instrument God used to bring down the camp of His enemy.

Can he say the same of you?

Woman You Are More Than This!!!!
